bgaccord
well i bough a RE MT 18" dual 1 ohm,one tinsel lead torn from inside where it meets with voice coil, so i want to recone it, question is ,can i buy a recone kit for btl at fi audio or it wont fit ? other question is , will power handling be less with just one coil working or would it handle 2000watts ? chapo123
if the sub is 2000rms thats peob 1000rms per coil. Steve I don't know why but everytime I see your new paint I want a Dr. Pepper...... is this normal? heres an analogy for you. running a high power stereo without a fuse is like having unprotected sex with that hot chick at the bar with the sketchy sexual history. Sure you may be fine and nothing happens but that one time something does happen you're fucked. i dont want woofer broke like bass sound clip clip and voice coil overheat 2 sa12s, saz1500 build log http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/91183-chapo123s-sundown-build-log/page__gopid__1250604entry1250604
Cashdollar2009
Lol don't run a dvc off of one coil. If your were running 2000 watts to your sub and lost a coil, then only one coil would be running. Think ohm loads. Assuming you are wired down to .5, your final load is now in theory 1ohm because it is just the load from the one coil. Get the recone or figure out how to solder the s*** out of the broken coils. More than likely your solder will snap due to it's brittleness, but hey, it's worth a shot if you don't want to dish out for a recone yet. 1997 Chevrolet Cavalier Two 12" DC Audio XL M2'sCrescendo Audio BC5500d Current Scores: 150+ out the Trunk On 6/30/2011 at 1:11 AM, 'Ray' said: Acoustical energy is free.
