How to tune it?

So i know there is a change in tuning with how close your box and port are to the rear hatch or tailgate etc of your vehicle. What does this change, farther away drop your tuning or raise it? i know there is a science to this somehow i just dont know how to work with it? Is it all just tune to your liking or? any help here would be great thanks!

no one has any advice for this? I guess ill just move it around till it sounds the best to my ears....thanks anyways
