Rebel4055
Bought a new DMM so I wanted to see if my subs are running the correct resistance but I'm not for sure on how to do that. The DMM has a ohm area with 2m 200k 20k 2k and 200. Which one should I select? Quote Rest In Peace mother. techforce
off...hold it there for a few secconds to let the impedance slowly lower to the correct setting...
GioRF
You shoul turn everything off and disconect your subs from the amp and conect your DMM to each sub separately thats how i do it. And has worked for me.

Rebel4055
Thanks to both of you! Got a reading from 1.6-2.4 ohms on the amp. Now I heard you can adjust your gain using a DMM to check for clipping? How would I go about doing that? Edited July 10, 2010 by Rebel4055 Quote Rest In Peace mother. techforce
There's an entire thread on that... or you can google "properly set your amplifier gain" because there is a test tone you are supposed to play... IF you have a good ear... you can listed for it... (I know people are gonna argue with that one) but... yes you can... for your setup I think just going to the point that the bass starts to loose power or starts distorting, back it down a notch... It's not SUPER accurate... but will always get you in the safe zone...
