Sub box ports

Existing box i have is perfect size for new L7 12" i got. nearly a perfect 3.25 ft3 with sub displacement, but has 2 ports. but i need to tune them for sub. I know in home audio, some cabinets that have 2 ports have each one a different length to supposedly reduce port noise. I want more info on this please.

What happens if i make each one different length, i assume this makes it tuned to 2 different frequencies, right? any benefits/cons?

Like say i tune one to 35hz and other at 38hz, does it somehow reduce port noise or do they both somehow together tune to just one frequency?

Currently the ports are 6.5" each...i know huge right. But tuning to 38hz makes them too long. So i'm going to modify it to smaller. Does port size make a difference once its tuned to desired frequency? should i go 4" or 2". i read larger makes for less port noise but since i have two ports....?

My last question is about port calculators. If i input 2 ports and the size..etc. the final number that results, is that the lenght for each port or both ports together and i half the number?

you know i had to ask myself the same thing i wanted to do 2 4in ports for my boxes, but i assume you halve the length of the final port length
