Test amp with DMM?

I just bought an amp off one of my friends for cheap. Its an MRP-M450. Is there any way I can test its functionality without having to hook it up to my car Beacuse right now I have nothing, no wires or anything, So I was wondering if there is a way to test it with a DMM.

if you hook it up to a 12v battery, hook your mp3 player/computer up to the amp via rca's and play music. turn the gain up and if you see numbers then it should be fine (or better yet use a speaker)

I foud some spare wire in my basement so I just hooked it up to my car batt, it works =)

You mean it turns on...that doesn't mean it works. You won't know it puts out sound unless you do as Kranny suggested.

Yes I know that! Thats why I hooked up a speaker to it!
