Guest Posted July 13, 2010 Report Share Posted July 13, 2010 no point in using a reducer in my opinion. let the amp use the power wire that it was meant to use. i understand the point of having bigger wire to let more current flow but 4 gauge will be just as sufficient. 15ft of 4 gauge should be plenty, but 20ft couldnt hurt as every vehicle is different. and 10ft of 12 gauge should be fine also. the 1200d has 120 amps worth of fusing so go for a 150 amp fuse. If you do go with 4g (nothing wrong with that as said above it's enough you just can't upgrade with it) just remember that some brands of 4g are only rated at 100a.
