Guest Posted July 19, 2010 Report Posted July 19, 2010 im thinking about getting a 500w power supply or something of that sort and im gunna try and wire it so i can run leds off the 5v rail and 12v stuff off the 12v rail, now where do you get those sealed acid batteries like in jumper boxs so i can run it inline with it to help out the current flow, i have a couple jumper boxs that i use for parts but the battery wont hold a charge for longer than about 30min wouldnt a 12v SLA battery need to be charged at high 14's? PSU's output ~12.5v max. Quote

Autruche Posted July 20, 2010 Report Posted July 20, 2010 wouldnt a 12v SLA battery need to be charged at high 14's? PSU's output ~12.5v max. My PSU I made does 15.1v on the 12v rail, so I would think it would be fine. My 300 watt one ran 4 HIDs no problem, so I would assume if you get a good brand you should have no problem, but I just got into this kind of modding like 2 months ago so I'm still kind of a noob at it.
