Had to take out the rear seat back, but people in the back can use the box as a back rest. W00t for still being able to carry 3 passengers!

It does get decently loud, but I already want it louder, lol. I wish there was someone with a TermLab around here, I am interested in seeing what it meters.

Got my new head unit in :yahoo: Clarion CZ500, not bad but it's a cheapo one.

IMG_0929.jpg

Rear USB input FTW!

IMG_0930.jpg

Then I started having trouble with my mids and highs. The amp would cut out every now and then and go into protect. Also, it seemed as if the midrange had died on the passenger side.

I pulled out the crossovers, started with the driver's side and saw this:

I have no explanation on why it snapped off.

IMG_0924.jpg

then the one from the passenger side:

Hmm...

IMG_0925.jpg

I decided to pull the crossovers out and just run the front active. 2 4"s and 2 tweets up front with no rear fill at all. I hooked everything up and... SMOKE STARTED COMING OUT OF MY 4 CHANNEL! I ripped the wires all out of it, and set it on the ground. I did some testing and found out the passenger side midrange speaker had blown and the speaker wire got loose and grounded out. That's probably why the crossover is screwed up. Needless to say, I was pissed.

This is the aftermath of my midrange that got caught up in all of this:

IMG_0927.jpg

I did some bench testing and luckily my ZXi150.4 was still in running shape, it just smelled like hell. Burning electronics is a smell you'll never forget. It's way worse than burning coil.

I put my 4 channel back in, put a new speaker in and went for a ride. Everything is in working order, but I am a bit ticked off that I am completely out a midrange speaker now.

Which one?

I'm staying in high 12s-low 13s at full tilt with both amps going. I need to make another run of positive and another run of ground to get it full power though. I can tell the Sundown being choked a bit.
