superdave07
Looking for some advice, Im getting ready to build a box for a buddy of mine. Hes using 4 re 8" woofers. Im not sure the model number, they are dual 4 ohm woofers. Anyways im not sure on the air space needed, im going to try and contact re about this, but my biggest question here is about tuning. Im not certain how to tune this. Will it make any difference on sound being that they are 8" subs? He wants to be able to listen to mostly rap music. It may not be any different at all, but i thought i would ask before i get started, and yes i will be posting a build log for this car. tristan560
I have a buddy who used to have a ton of them...if I remember correctly its .5 cubes ported. Tune to whatever. But stay small on the port area, maybe 8sq in per cube. They like to get sloppy with any more. Quote 99 Jimmy SLT 4WD Systemless. 99 Grand Prix GTP DC XL 12 on 1.5k tuned lowwwwww. superdave07
Thank ya, to be honest ive build around 100 enclosures. Never build one for subs smaller than 12s. With the exception of 6.5s and what not. This is all new for me. going to try and get a box and amp rack in the trunk and still have some room for haulin beer home Quote Xterra * 69 Camaro * Audi S5 36 Ford * 51 Mercury looking for wire sponsor www.flyracing.com

tristan560
I don't think the box specs changed between the two. Sealed Box Dimensions: .3 - .35 cubic feet Ported Box Dimensions: .35 @ 35 HZ - .5 @ 35 HZ Edited July 20, 2010 by tristan560 Quote 99 Jimmy SLT 4WD Systemless. 99 Grand Prix GTP DC XL 12 on 1.5k tuned lowwwwww.
