STEvil Posted July 29, 2010 Report Share Posted July 29, 2010 Pick what frequency you want the tuning at. 30.7hz (fs) is 9.21 feet long (1130 divided by FS (30.7) then divided by 4) and with a 10 you'll need 60-63" (sd) of port. With 9.5" width (1" MDF assumed) that gives 6.3158 inches of height internally for the port so you probably wont be able to make 3 folds in only 16.5 inches of height.... Just fold the box at its maximum length (35.5) then take the "extra" length and use it as a guide on how much length to shorten the box by. For example if your port is 10" from the "end" of the box then shorten the box about 3 inches along the "35.5" inch measurement. You might be able to get away with a slightly smaller port but I admit i've never done any testing to see what happens when you use a smaller port. Any time you have have a power wire next to your frame put some rubber hosing (or cut up an innertube) around it.
