Alpine Amp/Sub - Reassurance would be nice...

Here's the setup:

Pioneer DEH-P610BT Head Unit (Hi-Volt-4V)

Alpine 1242D 12" Subwoofer (500 watts RMS @ 2 ohm)

Alpine MRP-M500 (500 watts RMS @ 2 ohm)

So my box is 1.94 cubic feet (2.59 without taking into consideration the wood thickness) and it's a bandpass.

I want to make sure everything should work fine. I want to set my gain with a test tone (any recommendations on which ones work well would be good). Does my headunit work properly with the amp/sub?

The headunit goes up to 62, so I was thinking at setting the gain with the volume at 45? I'm guessing that should work. Furthermore, my bass eq. on the amp is near 0, with the LPF just below 75. I haven't played it too hard yet, just because I want to clarify that things will work fine.

Anyways, anyone who's had a similar setup in terms of the sub and amp, let me know what you did. I know things are different for each person, but give me a sense of what's correct (I'm a rap guy, I like the bass, not necessarily the SQL).
