Very low volume output from amp

Here is the run down on my situation. My stepdaughter blow a pair of RF Punch Z 10's. They were SVC 8 ohm and I had them wired parallel to achieve a 4 ohm bridged load. I used a spare Sony Xplod 760w (basically 150 x 2 @ 4 ohm stereo or 325 wrms @ 4 ohm bridged). Everything was working great for about 4 days. Apparently, before they blew, she told me the amp went into protect mode (overcurrent). I get the new pair of RE 10's in (dual 4 ohm wired to a 4 ohm bridged load). The sub volume is super low. You'd almost think they weren't playing. The DMM shows a load of 4 ohm based on the speaker inputs. The green power light is lit up on the amp. Gains were all the way down and nothing else has been touched. Is the amp toast and just not showing anymore protection lights?

use the DMM to set the gain... from my calculations, you should set it to 36 volts AC to achieve the "325 wrms @ 4 ohm bridged". someone correct me if im wrong.

this could maybe be your problem check your gains

I did check them. It's a slight turn above being all the way down. When I start to turn it up, it sounds super grungy.

use the DMM to set the gain... from my calculations, you should set it to 36 volts AC to achieve the "325 wrms @ 4 ohm bridged". someone correct me if im wrong.

This and also check out this site it will help you adjust the gains, it calculates the volts you need to set it at.

I get what you all are saying about the gain, but the subs shouldn't be whispering when the volume is 3/4 up.

Had them wired wrong. Problem solved

When I put the subs back in, I had the polarity on one right. However, I had positive and negative wires on the sub swapped. I just wasn't paying attention when I was mounting the sub back in the back. That is what I get for trying to hurry and get it done.
