Dbforlife Posted August 8, 2010 Report Posted August 8, 2010 hey i have 2 audioque hdc3 12's, the box is a dual chamber.. 2 cu ft per chamber like audioque site asks for on the 12's, and the port shares each chamber. my question is.. a 4 inch wide port? or a 6 inch? dont got measurments yet, the audioshop does (friend owns it, great deal on this 3/4 mdf box with fiberglassed seams on inside) they say 4 inch port should be fine,and loud, cuz the box is tall, (subs face up) but i hear i might need a 6 inch wide port? isnt 4 inch fine? 1998 GMC Jimmy 4 Dr. -SINGER 275 Amp Alternator -150 FT. What tuning? What's the ports height x width x depth? You need to get us specs or we can honestly give you no legitimate answer. You are going to be looking for port area per cubic foot. Also the entire box's dimensions to determine the remainder of the port size to set up your tuning... its just like a slot port inbetween each sub, and that port goes straight back, and then goes side to side. follow me? and yeh ill get diameter then, just i heard 6 inches was good, and 4 may not be, but yeh ok.. ill get dimentions, btw tuning is 35 hertz, 2 cubes per sub "chamber" i call it, idk im new to box building and thats why they are doin it for me. lol 1998 GMC Jimmy 4 Dr. -SINGER 275 Amp Alternator -150 FT.
