what should i try tune my 12" sub to... in my room

with a box of 30" H x 25" W x 25" D

how far should the port be away from the back of the box?

with a port 5" H x 5" W going 20" ( 5" from the back "

it would be 17hz..

6" H x 6" W going 20" itll be 21hz. that seam alright? higher? lower? (:

15" wide

30" long ( 20" going back. then 10" down to bottom of box? )

20 hz with 15-17 sq inches of port area and 2-2.25 cubes that should do pretty good :drinks:

Amp Wire: Knukoncepts 1/0 gauge

Alternator: Stock 90 amp

Battery In Back: None for now but I am looking for one so pm me if you have one for sale

Front/Rear Amp: Hifonics Txi-4408 4 channel amp

Front Speakers: Orion Cobalt 6.5 coaxial

Rear Deck Speakers: Orion Cobalt 6x9 coaxial

Amp: 2 Kenwood KM-105's from 1985

Receiver: JVC RX-6008V 5.1 Channel Receiver

Sub: still looking for one thinking about getting a 18 or 15 for my sub to hit the lows if anyone has one pm me

lol i just turned 15 and i've been makin money since i was 12 sellin shit on ebay and doing installs 8)

I hope you don't do installs with a 150amp fuse on a 1/0 wire. Just tune it to 36 or 35 and do it, lets anger those neighbors man!

I fixed a DUB 10" and built it a 2.4 cube (far to big lol. Gonna put two 10"s in it later) tuned to 19hz. It played mean low but didn't really use the power to the best of its abilities. So I shortened the ports (not sure of the tuning now, about 30hz maybe. Much louder and lots of room for more power. Although there is some port noise at <20hz you can't hear it over music/movie effects and this could be fixed with flares on the ports. Also as there is more headroom it can now be tuned to give better response at lower frequencies.

Moral of the story, experiment.
