Guest MegaloManiac
a cap wont help, if anything it will hurt you, even though they are designed to give power quickly, they gotta get power from somewhere, and that somewhere is your alternator, it would be just like charging another batt, so so you wanna charge another batt or do you wanna charge a couple of caps?? no differrence in my eyes, though the cap will help with voltage ripples and smooth out the flow. im with him^ a cap will act as bandaid, i have said this many times before. it will only cover up the problem, dimming(aka voltage drop). Tell me this do expect a capacitor to magically create more power for your amp? no. you would much rather spend the money on a battery for a bit more reserve power as well as an alternator to keep up the charge from all the demand of power. Why spend hundreds of dollars on a "good" capacitor when, when you can buy 1) a battery or 2) buy an alternator. long read but very valuable info here, a must read. http://forum.realmofexcursion.com/showthread.php?t=17970 Edited August 9, 2007 by MegaloManiac
