If you were to put a sheet of Plexiglas in front of subwoofers (just for show and run some LED lights under it) would it change the sound/quality of the bass coming from the woofers? and if so how far away would the sheet half to be to make a difference. Im saying this because i was at a sound comp. a month ago and a guy had a 15" sub in a Little hatch back right up against his hatch, and i hard him say he moved it back from the hatch about 1 or 2 inches and he said he lost some decibels by doing that. so i was wondering if this has the same effect. now i could just of heard wrong and none of this stuff makes a difference but i would like to know what your guys think. Boon Posted August 23, 2010 Report Posted August 23, 2010 It's called a loading wall and yeah, it can make a pretty enormous difference. Depends if the panel is rigid enough for the subs to actually load off it or just flex it a lot. 10.x volts fo' life!

Depends if the panel is rigid enough for the subs to actually load off it or just flex it a lot. id be using 1/4 thick plexiglas and im going to screw it to the box with plastic stoppers so it sits off the box. another question, how far away should the plexiglas be from the woofers it have the best outcome?

IF you decide you need thicker, www.vipplastics.com has some amazing prices on various sized panels. from 3/4 to 2" thick. They can custom cut too. best prices i seen anywhere
