Wireless Speakers

I got to thinking today, is it possible with our(the general public) current technological abilities to build speakers that are wireless. I was thinking about some type of bluetooth technology, or am I relating to totally different things?

my step dads rear ( home theater setup 5.1 ) has bluetooth speakers.. has 2 plug into power though (: im sure its possiable..

but i swear they have like 0.5 sec slower then the front.. but doesnt really make much of a difference though

Oh, coolio. Yeah, I just started thinking of power and was a bit stumped.

Wireless signal yes but not power. You could make the signal to the amplifier be wireless and they do with many home theater speakers but a speaker has to have a amplifier to amplify the signal to sound.
