Rainman215 Posted September 4, 2010 Report Posted September 4, 2010 I have a alpine CDE-102 with 2 sets of 2 volt pre-outs. I want to up the voltage. The plan is to run 2 pairs of RCAs from the HU to the line driver. Next run 2 pairs of RCAs from the front/rear outs to my 4 channel amp powering my mids. I will then run my sub out rca to my sub amp. I have a 2 channel amp for my tweeters so i plan to use the out channels on the 4 channel amp to send the signal to the 2 channel amp? Might be confusing but just tell me if thats good or not. jbondox Posted September 4, 2010 Report Posted September 4, 2010 sure why not? you are basically installing a line driver in between the amp and the headunit Also, you are dreaming if it is a true 2v out of the Alpine, I do a lot of alpine and anything over 25 on the dial which should be 1.2 volts starts distorting audibly. if you have a scope and access via a test cd, you will see for yourself.
