Couple of questions

I am finally going to be getting some subs for my car and can't choose which to get. Fist off, I havn't owned a sub before but do know the basics of it all and am having a really hard time deciding what to start off with. Right now I'm looking at getting two 12" Pioneers (TS-308D4 to be exact) and am wondering if its really even worth it and if it is I was going to wire them down to 1 ohm and get a cheap-ish amp. I was looking at a Planet Audio amp that does about 900w at 1 ohm which is just about what the subs need and I'm not completely sure whether or not the amp is trash or not, seeing as to how it is so cheap. The subs and amp are about $300 all togather and that sounds like its too good to be true. I am planning to make my own box's just to make sure they will fit in the truck and will sound decent.

So, does it sound like it would do the job or should I go with some other subs/amp? I really don't have too much money to work with, about $400-ish.

go with higherish brand subs.. craigslist is ftw sometimes lol my first setup was 2 12 type r's in box with a kenwood amp for 350. slapped good for what it was..

Those pioneers aren't bad, they go well for what they are. I'd go for a different amp though.
