Thinking about selling my two twelves and upgrading to one 15 or one 18. First off my 12's are eclipse 87121.8 @ 8 ohms 300 rms each. I have a R500-1 rockford fosgate amp. What should i buy that would put these two 12's to shame but my amp could power? does 500x1 @ 2 ohms. Looking to downsize since i will be commuting more so i need less weight in my ass end.

1 Rockford Fosgate R500-1 amp

Budget Build, I spent about 330$ for the setup.

but its a crx, if you cant fart and do a 150 in a crx there is something wrong...

NO

if you dont want to spend a whole lot, i saw someone post a link to some audiopipe 15"s, those would prolly get the job done (and they look relatively light as compared to woofers from the mainstream companies here on this website)

Erm, how's your box look?

Like an RT obcon prefab @ 38hz.. Now i called eclipse to get box specs and they only gave me sealed measurements, they don't recommend the subs in a ported box. Think it was 1.6 cubes per chamber for "boomy" bass.

I have had sealed boxes and for the most part they were OK for everyday listening, I did have one in my old Geo with two Audiobahns that sounded pretty good. I do like bandpass boxes for some odd reason and slot ported always seem to sound good. I wish i had the money to build a few boxes and find what i like, but money is tight and my first try would be my last for a while, I would hate to invest 150$ into making a box and it sound like shit.

Would you happen to have the link or could you point me in the direction where it was posted?
