so what??? what does that have to do with it? and whats so special about it?

the design of the basket is patented because of the ways its shaped, it disperses heat differently.

nobody is aloud to recreate that legally.

also why would Fi have a 13" driver, the also dont have an 8" driver, as well as those beefy surrounds which JL uses

everything on the w7 has a patent but the Motor System, Ultra-Long Voice Coil, Progressive-Roll Spider, and the Double Lead-Wires, everything elts is patented..

and the mounting system is diffrent than anyother speaker so noone can recone it but jl

no you cannot, even if you were to find someone to tool that coil what about the overroll suround?...patent, as well as the cone. so you are SOL if you dont have any jlaudio dealer receipts to get the recone.

no way around not going through JL i say dont get it free or not lol maybe just to plug into light socket ;-)

nope nobody will buy it. JL will only do the recone, and they charge as much as the driver itself. I believe they wont even talk to you about a recone if you dont have a receipt and serial numbers.

I think it's around $380 to recone.And you need the orignal shipping box.Or they won't even touch it.
