me and andym85 had the two loudest trunks around withoud sealin it off from the cabin i did 47's and andy did close to 50's

What about volume of the enclosure. This sub recommends 5 to 6.5 cubes. I herd for hair tricks that you want a bigger box. Is that true? If so how big should I go?

you can pull it off with a big box, and lots of port area....your sub won't thank you for it, but.....

yes but not by much

bigger box allows a bigger port, and the two of those together makes the whole system more effecient, which basically means its louder and a lot of loudness is needed to do a hairtrick. ~150 at ~30hz is about what you need. If you're a few db lower at a few hz lower it will still happen and vice-versa

considering you have an 18, I'd shoot for about 8 cubes after displacement, port about 120-130sq inches tuned between 26 and 30. You're going to have to play around with dimensions and whatnot cuz the box will probably be 10-12 cubes external, and thats pretty damn huge.

thanks raytard, you have givin me some very useful information. What about the type of enclosure. Should i do a standard vented slot or do something like a fourth order?

Yes sir, raytard is giving you very nice advices, also, you could PM fritosaregood, he´s doing some nice hairtricks with a single 18" , i´m doing very good hairtricks in my car with small port area and around 35 hz tuning , only using 5.75 cubic feet per sub because it´s a very small car, in your case, i would do 7 cubic feet and 3 6" aeroports with a 30 hz tuning, that should murder!!

What kind of box do you have? Standard ported or a fourth order?
