hifi amp and car subwoofer

hi i have a oldskool 200w pioneer 4 chanel amplifier and i just bought a 12" jbl subwoofer, the amp says speaker impedance 8 to 16 ohms and the subwoofer is 4 ohms will any damage be caused to the sub or amp being played at a moderate level? thanks chris.

No offense, but the general rule is, if you have to ask, don't do it. Anyway, it probably doesn't do 200 wpc if it is old school, and even if it was new, it would probably do it at 10% THD (total harmonic distortion, in other words, it would sound like shit). Try and buy a plate amp or a small pro audio amp made by crown or behringer.

Not personally, no, hopefully someone else will jump in and say. There are probably some on eBay. If nobody on here says where to get them you could ask at hometheatershack.com
