yes those are for the mids, im kind of sceptical about the size dont know if it will sound the way i want so might get an 8" instead of a 7" but we will see once in car, i got stranded at someones house car is there do to weather, only have summer tires on car. >.<

  • 3 weeks later...

ok update on the car, some audio some not

this was from 3 diff post on a diff forum thats why it seams spaced out

got some work done finally now the the weather is barely tolerable....

IMG_20110228_133011.jpg

using 2x 10" slim fans pushing, car sat at idle for a long time and held a steady temp so all things work, also got the dual stage boost controller hooked up and i love it!

ok so i did some more work to the car today, some little things but they make a difernece, first i fixed my windsheild wiper motor so now my wiper blades dont stop mid eye sight, what a relief, then i changed my tstat and here are before and after pics for Rocketman

IMG_20101202_084837.jpg

before after driving for about 30 minutes

IMG_20110302_162613.jpg

after, after driving for 30 minutes, now my car runs a little better and seems to be running more lean at idle/cruise maybe ill have better fuel now HAHA

i got around to also doing my rear speakers there now in i dont have a pic of the speakers in but i will soon, here is a comparison of the door speakers and the rear speakers

IMG_20110301_170845.jpg

rear(right) is an 8" midbass woofer door speaker (left) is a 7" midrange speaker

i also am working on getting rid of my hood rattle and cleaning her up a bit with some sound deadner ( good up to 500 degrees ambient heat)

IMG_20110302_230531.jpg

also painting the hood clip (or what ever its called)

IMG_20110303_000025.jpg

paint is 500 degree engine enamal then will coat with a clear lacquer so it should be able to hold up to the use of the latch.

ok got the hood done and HOLY #@$! it sounds like a brand new car!!! i used silicon for the seams, sound deadner for the hood area and then filled the braces with exspading foam, it added probably 2 lbs to he hood so it doesnt make a difference in weight but it sounds AMAZING !!!

IMG_20110303_173145.jpg

and here a vid

th_VID_20110303_183725.jpg

also i got a chance to take a picture of my wire up front

IMG_20110303_174746.jpg

thats 0AWG welding wire one goes to the back where the battery is the other is connected to the alternator and then the third wire goes to the second distributor block

IMG_20110303_174754.jpg

both blocks and the wire

IMG_20110303_174800.jpg

thats 0AWG from the other block and 2 4AWG wire one goes to the fuse panel and the other goes to the starter, everything is welded and heat shrunk for best results, i dont have a picture of the grounds but on the Passenger side i have a 0AWG ground from strut mount to engine block and on driver side i have a 2/0 AWG wire going from frame to tranny case.
