no audio output device installed

down where my speaker is lower right hand side it has a red x through it and says no audio output device installed just wondering if anyone else had the same problem i really need some help im tired of it cuz i want to watch youtube vids but i got no sound could really use help thank you

how long has it been like this? do you physically have the hardware in your pc to support sound? what about proper drivers so your pc can actually use it?

i really dont know i looked in the device manager and it still say sound controllers and video

Are there red, green, and blue jacks on the back of your computer? It could be that your audio driver is uninstalled. Or it could be that your sound card failed. Or that it's not there.

You probably don't have any sound drivers installed.

Grab a windows restore disc ?? I'm not sure if it was working 3 days ago. Your pc may have had a software malfunction causing the driver for the sound card to fail. I assume you've tried rebooting your laptop?
