Wiring 2 batterys

HI,

I have a saturn ion and my battery is located in the trunk..

I have a duralast and a xs 1200 in the trunk..

I also just did the big 3 and am wondering how do i hook it up.

Im assuming i hook up both alt wire to the duralast then run a wire from the duralast to the xs where i will be running my amps.

I was wondering do i need to fuse the wire connecting the battery's? What would happen if i hook up an alt pos wire to each battery?
