Columbia House (dvd) ...dam Scammers

I fullfilled my contract couple months ago, I called and canceled account(automated process) then i cancelled my credit card and got a new card. Somehow my account still isnt cancelled and they sent me that godam directors selection dvd, i sent it back with return to sender written on it. and then it showed up on my NEW credit card statement, i checked online and my account was still open & the new card # was there somehow . They are a big fckin scammer.

Anybody know what I should do now?

Has anyone been successful in canceling an account with them?

ouch. now you're in a bind cause of that stupid contract. what you need to do is make sure you stay on top of the paper work or emails. when they ask you about a directors selection be sure you check No, i don not want any of these titles. otherwise they will send and bill you if you do not return back.

I signed up like 2 years ago, got my free dvd's, and wanted to order a season of the simpsons and they wouldn't let me, so I never went back to their website, and they haven't contacted me since.

not me. i got the 5 dvds, and when the contract expired they slapped me with a bill for all 5 dvds back in january,iirc.

well I still got the things in the mail that I had to cancel online, but they never made me buy a dvd from them.

they never made me buy a dvd either. i kept up with the emails denying the directors selections but my contract is over. I called I canceled. I even cancelled the credit card. So how in the fuck did they get my new credit card # & why is my account still active :mad:

OK I CALLED ONCE AGAIN, THIS TIME I GOT A REAL PERSON!!! I MADE SURE I CANCELED THAT BITCH, LADY ASKED WHY I SIMPLY SAID IM GOING TO COLLEGE I HAVE TO PAY THOSE BILLS< SHE SAID OK< AND I ASKED IF I HAD A BALANCE DUE AND SHE SAID NO. sorry typing in caps but i'm ecstatic. all i got to say is Fcck COLUMBIA!!
