Really impressed in the increase in output, its unreal. It actually hurts now . Missus was with me so tested a hair trick out with the door fully open and it pulled it off efforlessly, she wouldn't let me record it though ill post one up soon. Had to stack the two new amps unfortunately but still looks good. Not sure whether the amps will live in this place one I do the amp rack trim but doing the job atm. Also got a package from DVB... my imprint unit. Here are the results pd format Without blockers 35hz tuning 20hz - 143.2 25hz - 150.1 33hz - 153.9 40hz - 153.2 Peak@32hz - 154.9 Average 151.1 With Blockers 25hz tuning 20hz - 147.4 25hz - 151.7 33hz - 154.7 40hz - 153.5 Peak@31hz - 155.2 Average 152.5dB Was 2 batteries down when I had this tested and the amps are strapped until I get my RCA's and then they will run 1 per coil, should make them more efficient. I've gone for black perforated leather vinyl.... should look really classy and subtle. Rocking the DC logo in the compulsory location lol. Picked up some aluminium bar from a local metal shop so I can make some bus bars for the batteries as I've been struggling to connect my 0 gauge terminals to them as the post isn't long enough.... this is my solution.
DodgerCannon Posted April 8, 2011 Author Report Posted April 8, 2011 The bar is 30mmx12mm... I plan to tap the holes for m8 bolts so hooking up multiple runs of zero will be a doddle. Got a couple of deliveries.... some heat shrink, contact adhesive and thinners, sanding disks and some spade terminals. Contact adhesive was bought from as trim and is absolutely amazing, never used an adhesive so good... and only a tiny bit is needed. Speaker cable and 0awg, filler and fibreglass 15m blue stinger hpm 0awg 15m clear stinger hpm 0awg 75m yellow stinger speaker cable 12awg Pretty impressed with the 0awg, more flexible than my knu fleks... the clear seems slightly more flexible than the blue, seems more rubbery. Got my new runs of cable in today front to back. Bought a big drill bit for my 0 gauge. 20mm holes cut Negative runs. Nicely terminated and heat shrunk.
DodgerCannon Posted April 8, 2011 Author Report Posted April 8, 2011 Positive runs. Cable tied Spl taped. Dynomatted around the holes so I don't get any unwanted engine noise. Battery connected, negatives aren't connected until I finish the bus bars... also you may notice one of the cables are not fused, until I get my fuses. Amp cables will be swapped out, then my other two batteries will go in.
DodgerCannon Posted April 8, 2011 Author Report Posted April 8, 2011 First bit of bass damage.... so glad its the damaged door. getting ready to start finishing off the wall... deadline is the 27th march for the fast show..... gonna be a tight one. Started by pulling the dcs out.... on my own lol. Wasn't too hard tbh. Then took the baffle off. I've sanded everything smooth in the ports, bits of fibreglass and slightly overlapping mdf.... so airflow should be better trough the port. Lots of dust! Also got my standard wheels back from the powdercoaters with a fresh refurb, painted pearly purple. Tyres will be going on this week some time between doing the wall. Decided the ports are going black too, might do them purple in the future if I like the theme. Did few bits ready for the door builds today before work. Knocked up a ghetto router jig Out of some birch and plexy for small cutouts. Really pleased with it, I have so much control whilst doing a circle it brilliant.

Used some plastic to recess the speakers. Tip nicked from mazdawg. Painted Matt black. I connected one of the speakers up to my jbl amp and they sound amazing, the mids off that one speaker was brilliant! All 4 are going to be brutal. Got the door cards finished for the new speakers, really happy with the outcome. Ill let the pics do the talking. Second door cut
