The amps fuse does that. I've have always heard and been told that the fuse protects the wire. I may be off one maybe one thing, just someone needs to clarify that. Rest In Peace mother. dbeez Posted December 26, 2010 Report Share Posted December 26, 2010 When amps have no internal fusing you fuse the wire to not only protect the wire but the amp as well so you were half right. Been doing this for a while and running small fuses wont cause a amp to let the magic smoke out as previously stated. If the guy who said that honestly thinks it will he is very misinformed and needs to do a little more research before giving advice.
