Big_Mike
I'm going to be ordering a 15" BTL N2 within the next week or so and I'm trying to figure out which way is the better way to go with a box. I was looking at some prefab but none really caught my eye. It's going in a 04 Tahoe, Not trying to use the whole trunk. Possibly 40Wx18Hx22D as the Dimensions. Anyone give me some ideas? Thanks EDIT: Going to be running 2000-2200wrms. Edited December 31, 2010 by Big_Mike

DannyV18
This will be for daily What kind of music do you listen to? Are you willing to sacrifice output linearity for low end extension? Need to list some goals to get an idea on what you want to get out of your sub. Big_Mike
Well I listen to mostly decaf and some regular music too. I want it to sound good on music but also put a decent score in spl lanes even though I won't be competing in contests.
DannyV18
Plug some numbers into an enclosure calculator that works with your available dimensions. I would say 4.5 - 5.0 net ft^3 tuned to 32 hz. Sub up port back.
Big_Mike
I'll check around
Big_Mike
Something like that? Edited December 31, 2010 by Big_Mike
Big_Mike
Or I can change the width in the port to 2" and have the hz of the box at 34.
iceman1575
Something like that? Need a LOT more port area per cubic foot. You should be aiming at 12-16 sq in per cube. Also make sure you take into account how many "common walls" your port will have i.e. walls shared by the exterior of the enclosure & the port. If you are doing one at the bottom of the box facing back, one common port wall. Not a whole big problem, but it helps. If I were you, I'd go with something like a 12w x 8h port or something along those lines. Just make sure there's enough clearance between the port wall & the sub. Quote POTATO!
