Hostility
So right now im designing my new box, want to build new box. My dilemma is, im using 2 6" aero ports. My box is 24" tall, my port length is 17", but with both flares attached the total length of it is 18". That only leaves 5.25" from the wall to the start of the flare. is this ok? I know your suppose to leave 6" from the wall using a 6" port. But the port doesn't tech. start until inside the flare a bit, if that makes sense. how i got that is. 24" tall, minus .75" for the bottom of box, then 18" port. splzx3
Just do it..it might not be a prob. and if there is port noise just add that last .75 Quote ________________________________________________________________________ deepsilencer, on 22 Aug 2011 - 17:32, said: splzx3, on 22 Aug 2011 - 17:27, said: i had my fun on one of his videos...till he blocked me then i got my mother into it lol after her he closed the comments xD lol your mom is a G! Hostility
I want the ports to be flush, so just adding .75 isnt easy. The tuning will give me 34.5hz Quote 99 s10 4.3L Big 3 220amp alt Odyssey 1500 Odyssey 2150 Northstar NSB 75 Sundown Audio 3500D Sundown Audio 125.2 3 Sundown Audio SA-12's Alpine H/U RF Power Comp set 6.5" RF 3 sixty line driver 5.25 cubes @ 31hz

Gatorcity
If the ports arent glued together, assuming they came in 2-3 pieces, couldnt you just cut .75"-1" off then glue them together? Will raise the tuning frequency some but I doubt it would be noticeable Edited January 8, 2011 by Gatorcity Quote comic on tv: I got a concussion from playing t-ball when i was younger, we dont really have time to go into that! . . . . 15 seconds pass . . . . . my girl: no one pitches to you in t-ball, do they??? fritosaregood
You shouldnt have a big problem with it, but if you do have any port noise you can just shave off that extra .75 inch. with that little port area and the sa 12s you will still be able to get the lows and youll most likely only raise .5 to 1hz Quote seller feedback: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...showtopic=61719 http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...showtopic=68281 build log: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/index.php?showtopic=44800 Gf's build: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/54346-kickergirls-camaro-new-box-pg-5/#entry753970
