I have a powebass amp, and so how does that work now with the ohm thing. I'm not too familiar on what ohms r and how they work.

The measurement of electrical resistance and system impedance. It is a measure of the degree to which electrons are limited in both velocity and quantity in passing through a circuit. In Impedance measurements, this takes into account, the mechanical resistance inherent in the motion of transducers. The standard is usually 4 ohms for car audio and 8 ohms for home and commercial audio. Some specialty woofers may be rated at 16 ohms.

From Neo-Frogs thread...

In car audio it has to do with wiring schemes... and to get to different ohm loads for sub-amp matching

If you have 2 Dual 4 ohm subs wired in parallel it would be 1 ohm telling the amplifier to put out the power according to the amplifiers rating at 1 ohm

If you have two Single 4 ohms in parallel it would be 2 ohms

http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/woofer_configurations.asp?Q=2&I=41

It tells your amplifier the ohm load and how much power to put out

Single Voice coils have one coil and Dual voice coils have 2 coils FYI

But also the gain has to be tuned correctly for the correct power to be suplied

Hope this help here read this it might help

You know how you avoid that? Man the fuck up and bang her best friend sister mom cousin worst enemy and never look back.

JUST SAY ANTI-AUDIOPIPE

i understand everything by diagrams and pics, it makes it A LOT easier to understand. and also i know there are many different ways to wire ur subs up to amps, what r the most common and best way?? or r they specific for diff types of subs and amps??
