Winn
I have a powebass amp, and so how does that work now with the ohm thing. I'm not too familiar on what ohms r and how they work. The measurement of electrical resistance and system impedance. It is a measure of the degree to which electrons are limited in both velocity and quantity in passing through a circuit. In Impedance measurements, this takes into account, the mechanical resistance inherent in the motion of transducers. The standard is usually 4 ohms for car audio and 8 ohms for home and commercial audio. Some specialty woofers may be rated at 16 ohms. From Neo-Frogs thread... In car audio it has to do with wiring schemes... and to get to different ohm loads for sub-amp matching If you have 2 Dual 4 ohm subs wired in parallel it would be 1 ohm telling the amplifier to put out the power according to the amplifiers rating at 1 ohm http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/woofer_configurations.asp?Q=2&I=42 If you have two Single 4 ohms in parallel it would be 2 ohms http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/woofer_configurations.asp?Q=2&I=41 It tells your amplifier the ohm load and how much power to put out Single Voice coils have one coil and Dual voice coils have 2 coils FYI But also the gain has to be tuned correctly for the correct power to be suplied Hope this help here read this it might help http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/83029-everything-you-need-to-know-about-car-audio/ Quote You know how you avoid that? 96burban
i understand everything by diagrams and pics, it makes it A LOT easier to understand. and also i know there are many different ways to wire ur subs up to amps, what r the most common and best way?? or r they specific for diff types of subs and amps??
