And ALWAYS ground to the best location, with a truck or SUV that has a frame you ground the amp to the frame, with a unibody car ground to the strut tower or to the front battery. I've heard before that the ground wire for an amp shouldn't be more than a few feet long. should I completely forget about that one and ground my amp to the battery or strut tower? Some peoples grounds are 7ft long, some are 2ft. Some people will say no don't do a long ground. It's up to you, I would get out a DMM and test the resistance where you want to ground. Throw them in a pit and burn them to hell. Order about 25 ft of this https://www.knukonceptz.com/productDetail.cfm?prodID=KFX8R Run that from the battery up front to the amps +. Fuse it with a 50@ fuse and call it a day. Oh, a fuse? Oh yes here's one for that power wire. https://www.knukonceptz.com/productDetail.cfm?prodID=FH-44 select 50a fuse and youre done. Take em out of the box and show us the wiring job on em. My guess is it looks like spaghetti. Run the power wire from the front battery, and fuse it with that fuse i showed you about 18" away from the front battery. Proceed to the amp and connect it to the + terminal. Next connect the negative run to the amp, and secure it to a sanded spot on the metal on your car. Bolt it down. Re run the remote wire so you know that;s good too, and wont cause any problems.
