dereileak Posted January 23, 2011 Report Share Posted January 23, 2011 Actually neither for car audio. Reserve capacity is the magic number to look at. Ah is calculated at a 5 amp draw over hours until fully dead ~10.5 volts and they take that hour amount multiply by current draw and get Ah. So unless you want to power some fog lights for hours don't look at Ah. I don't get the logic here, afaik, with amp hours, they may do the rating at a 5 amp draw, but this means that you can do 5 amps at 22 hours, or you could do 110 amps for 1 hour, or anything, you get the same amount of electrical energy that is pulled from the battery. There may be a slight difference because of how fast, but it shouldnt be that off. IMO Ah would be the thing to look at for the battery, and also max amps.
