Ok so i have made up my mind on what i am going to get in my car. Two Audioque sdc2.5-12's and the AQ1200D amp. What i need help on is the box, i have decided i want a ported box and i know that requires a lot space so how much space would those two subs need in the box? Could you reccomend me a good box for these subs? And as for the wiring, could i just go to best buy and pick up an amp installation kit that has everything i need to hook up the subs and amp? I have done some reading and i saw that there is different kinds of wire like 10 gauge 8 gauge and so on. Does it matter which kind of wire you use?

Go easy on me, i'm new to car audio and im very interested in this kind of stuff.

Thank you for your time.

you would need a box that is 3.4 to 4.0 cubic feet with 54sqin to 64sqin of port area.

as for an amp kit, try this out. http://www.knukonceptz.com/productDetail.cfm?prodID=KOL-AK4

Amp kits have everything to you for wiring? Like its not just wiring for the amp it has the wiring you need to wire the amp to the subs and battery?

That kit includes EVERYTHING.

Also that kit would be 100% better than that kit at BB.

Alright thank you so much. And last thing. Should i try to install it all like wire everything and install the subs in the box, all that good stuff? or should i just pay the extra money to get someone who knows what theyre doing to do it? I was thinking about bestbuy but i have done some research on their installations and i have not been impressed and the more i hear about them from real car audio people(people on this forum) who know their stuff it makes me want to stay away from them more but i figure they know a whole lot more than me in this area but then the horror stories come back into my head. Im kinda stuck on what to do because i have never installed anything related to car audio. Is it too complicated for a 16 year old? I have some friends that are a little bit experienced in car audio, should they be an option to hook it up?

Do LOTS and LOTS of research and everything and you can pull it off. I built a PC when i was 13 and it's still running to this day. It's not hard if you have the brains for it.

You should do it in other words.

Rest In Peace mother.
