Purplehaze Posted March 11, 2011 Author Report Posted March 11, 2011 What's up guys! Finally got a visit from the UPS guy. The box, believe it or not, has some dings, just like the previous two. But this time they threw in some Auto Barrier (never heard of it, but it's free, so we will see!). So I got started rt away touching up the box, and cutting out the "beauty rings" and painting them to match. Also had to solder up the wires, and I went ahead and threw in some polyfil. So I WOULD be throwin out some demos, but I f*%!ed up and put the dew on top of the rings a little too soon! So I had to repaint them, which sucked since they were glued already! It sounds pretty good to me, although I still need to fine tune everything. I'm headed to a Term Lab this week to get everything tuned properly, and see what kind of numbers it's puttin out. Sound quality is pretty nice though. And yes I am building another box. I like the tuning of the prefab,(5 cubes @ 35htz), but I think it can definitely look better! I know a lot of people frown on Kicker, but it's nice to get some props for my work, and not my equipment. I appreciate it for sure! @ EVERYONE - This marks the end of "Stage 1" of this build. And especially to the ones who went out of their way, like ptcary, Neofrog, and ChillMasterWill, along w/ others I am forgetting to mention. I REALLY REALLY REALLY appreciate it!!! And thank you to tha man, Mr. Steve Meade, for doing what he does. He truly motivated me in this build w/ his skills, and having this site is just "priceless". Having my son when I was only 18, along w/ living in a poor section of the country, kinda pulled me away from the car audio world for several years. I almost forgot how much fun this can be, thanks for reminding me! I can honestly say that life is a lil bit better now thanks to SMD. @ a MOD - Please lock this thread, stage 1 is complete!
