Foamyy Thee Squirrell
Can you explain to me 4th order and 6th order walls? Also whatever else there may be. Maybe some pictures or video links if you got them would be nice too. Still learning here. Someone suggested I do a 6th order wall and I am like what... mrd6
I don't have time to write a whole explanation right now but my build log has some good examples of ported, 6ths and 4ths. Feel free to ask me questions in that thread if you have any. My Build Log: http://www.stevemead...-sundown-power/ Team NorthWestSPL
ChevyBoy95
i got you bruh..... gimmie a bit. and these are going to be VERY general examples. ChevyBoy95
6th... The red section is your "1st Ported" box [or chamber], which would generally be low tuned. The orange section is the "2nd Ported" box [or chamber] which is generally tuned high. The small rear portion (red) with low tuning helps retain cone control and front portion (orange) is more of the output section. Foamyy Thee Squirrell
You try google? Yes. I just thought a car audio form was good place to learn about car audio. But I'll go back to google and keep trying to figure this stuff out.
ChevyBoy95
4th... The red section [ first chamber ] is a sealed section, while the second chamber is a moderately high tuned ported section [ orange ]. Same sort of mechanic going on with the rear and front chamber. Best Score to Date : 160.5 dB Outlaw (47Hz)[4 XM 15's & 2 Taramps Bass 12k's] BL : http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/147800-chevyboy95s-4-15s-7krms-wall-1533-db-on-half-power/YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/hitemwiththeflex/

ChevyBoy95
Here is a 4th order. See how where the subs are mounted the chambers are sealed, and then there is the middle chamber (front or 2nd chamber) which is ported. 6th order. see how the rear chamber (which holds the subwoofer) is vented or ported into the front chamber, then the front chamber has another bigger port exiting the 6th order. So these are generally large builds? yes, due to the fact you are basically putting the sub in a sealed and ported box... so almost 1.5times the volume of a normal box.
