Well RF finally sent me my order this week after waiting a month... but the wait was worth it.

what went in:

Rockford Fosgate Power 1000.1-bd

Rockford Fosgate Power 400.4

Fi Q 15"

80ft^3 or RF deadskin

170 amp Power Master Alternator

the eXcelon and mb quart interiors I already had in. no need to take pics of them

Threw together a quick amp rack... I wanted to get them in so bad I really didn't get too creative. For the size of these amps they are RIDICULOUS.

The Q... enclosure is 3.5ft^3 tuned to 34hz... made out of birch :) This was my first experience building a box out of birch... but it definitely won't be my last. Also cutout a template and put the cover on the trunk lid to cover the deadskin... will more than likely take it off in the next week and do a raised pontiac logo or something of that sort in the middle.

...and to power it the Powermaster 170amp alternator. Going back home tomorrow to pick up a yellowtop from my buddy to swap for my duralast that is in there now. Thanks mechman for the HELLA deal on the alternator.

Sorry I'm not really a picture kind of guy when I'm working on stuff... I like to work and get it done. If I do any other work to it I will try to take pictures along the way.

Thoughts?

That's why they don't deliver.

Yer ass better go sit along the side of the road and wait.

You can't expect them to travel up some dirt road in a hick / back woods town. Thats how horror movies start :D

I explain things very simply and use analogies in terms of Pickles, and grape drink, pool noodles and jackhammers...if you can't put 2 and 2 together there man, There simply is not much more I can do.

For the ground I used the bolt that goes straight up and down in the back of the alternator... i put the ring terminal right flush with the alternator then just tightened the nut down over it. Truthfully putting the amp rack there didn't really change the output of the sub very much at all... I thought it was going to. The sides of the rack are pretty open and it actually doesn't go up all the way to the top of the opening.

oh okay i see well you cant really see if it does cause i was thinking that it was blocking all that pressure in.and a quick question is it true you gotta take apart the whole back seat in order to get to the rear speakers in the back?

Yah the bottom cushion just pulls out with the two tabs... then there is two 10mm and two 18mm nuts holding down the rear of the seat... once u take those out you just lift it up and it comes out... then you just take the rear deck out and they are right there.

The same customer that I had posted about finding the mouse in the headliner decided that taking a battery with him was too much of a hassle and gave it to me.

Kinetik 1400... free!

So I threw it in my car today...

What it looked like before next to my amp rack..

IMG_0230.jpg

First my first concern was I needed a better ground. So I drilled a whole thru where the unibody basically is and put a ground stud on... here is the view from the bottom of the car(damn rust from michigan winters!);

IMG_0228.jpg

So I put the battery in where the distro block was... along with a 100amp anl for the four channel, a 150amp anl for the 1000, and a 250 amp for the wire returning back up front.

IMG_0232.jpg

And ofcourse a couple weeks ago I switched the Fi Q out for a DC Level 4 15"

Comparison:

Very nice sub, definitely like it better than my Q.
