  1. Great Idea, same concept as two sticks of 512, but even more "cars" can fit on each lane at once...
  2. Why didnt you build one yourself? The thing I hate about dells, is they make you buy everything from them... My sister has one, the plus on dells is they last a long time with no problems, the neg is that you cant really upgrade without going through dell, which means they can jack up prices. She bought a printer there and they said that if she didnt buy her ink from them, then the warranty is void, and it was like 70 bucks to fill that printer up... On the other hand, that sub is sexy! when you getting the other one?
  3. No breakin period, I would recommend to get 2 sticks of 512, picture it like this. Your Sticks of ram are lanes on a high way, and the cars are the data, if you have 1 lane (one stick of ram) then you cant get that many cars through, but if you have 2 lanes (2 sticks of 512) you can get double the data in, plus you free up bottle necks, and you also can dual channel that shit. I recognized that is a gigabyte mobo, I have one of them, dual channel is the best...
  4. If your RAM is different types, then it is hard to over clock your cpu. When you overclock your CPU you over clock your ram, and if your ram isnt capable of running at those speeds then slower speeds happen, and you could damage something. I had 2 gigs in this computer, and tried to over clock (2 sticks were the same, and then I had a different pair of 512's in here), needless to say I ripped out the older 512's and it OC's perfectly now. Sounds like a power, or over heating issue... shit slows down when it over heats... Also, PSU's are responsible for 13% or computer freeze ups, so make sure you getting enough juice to that BEAST!
  5. You got a big enough PSU? Are both sticks of RAM the same?
  6. Try sending your processor back down to 2.5 see if that helps...
  7. You also want to make sure that your processor is capable of handling a fast video card, you get too much speed with your card, and not enough speed to back the card power from the processor or ram, then you get a bottle neck, slowing down your computer...
  8. I think that it is funny she started putting shit on the outside of the car! That is awesome... Wish I could see that thing in person.
  9. Yeah, what was he hitting at to make her do that... I gotta few chicks I wanna try this on...
  10. screw hearing about it, I want to see someone post a video of that! hahaha, I have been looking for that chart too, but no luck...

    New Amp

Well then how do I hook up the second sub? I have them both set up like that right now, but there isnt enough room on the speaker terminal on the amp for 2 pos on one post and 2 neg on one post...

    New Amp

Well I saw how to hook it up like that, but how do I splice the wire to run them together to have only one pos and one neg into the amp? Do I need to buy some sort of an adapter? Like in that picture where the positive and the negative on that left sub go into the wire headed to the amp from the sub on the right, how do I hook those together? Also, they said to START at 12 oclock... I wasnt planning on leaving it there, just didnt want to hurt anything.

    New Amp

Well, I switched amps with a buddy, and his rockfordfosgate amp worked in my car, and my new amp worked in his car. I had them all set at 12 oclock because that is what the amp book said to do. I switched it back, and it will turn on, but once I turn it up it shuts the amp off, no lights are on except the hifonics logo. When I test the amp after it shuts off from the loudness, it tests at around 7 volts. Once I turn the car off, then back on it will turn on again, till I turn it up. When we had it in my buddies car, we could turn it up how ever loud we needed... I dont understand what the problem is. All fuses are good... Also could someone show me the correct way to hook up two Kicker Comp VR's at 2 ohms? (Both have dual 2 ohm voice coils). I tired it the way that crutchfields wiring diagrams said but for some reason it sounded horrible, no matter how I adjusted the amp... Just let me know BTW I purchased this amp from onlinecarstereo.com

    New Amp

I just got a Hifonics BXi1606d amplifier, and I wanted to hook up 2 kicker comp vr's to it. Well I am getting 12 volts to the amp, and when I turn it up the amp shuts off... I have everything set to 12oclock on the adjustments. I took one of the subs off the amp and hooked up a comp vr by itself, now the amp doesnt even turn on. I was checking the voltage of the wire before I tuned on the music, and it said 12, then I turned it up till it shut off and the wire tested out at 7 volts... My fuse is good on the power wire, what could the problem be?
  20. Got it put in my trunk tonight, hook it up tomorrow. I hope that it sounds as loud as I think. I still need to do some tweaking on my new amp. Could someone tell me how to hook up two dual 2 ohm kicker comp VR's in a series to the amp with only 1 pos and 1 neg connected to the amp? I dont have enough room to run both sets of wire into the speaker ports on the amp... I was thinking about just stripping a little gap on one wire and hooking up like that...

Why not go past half? It seems like the sub is only really loud is when I have the level up all the way, I have it up to about 3/4 right now, pushing around 41.0 Volts tested with a DMM. I cant seem to get it as loud as my shitty ass soundstorm, and I know that this amp has to be better. Also, my power wire connected to the fuse at the battery is loose. I can wiggle it and it will get the sub hitting, but I want a perminant fix... I was wondering if I could solder the wire into the spot that plugs onto the fuse... BTW, im starting my other box either tomorrow afternoon, or Thursday, so I will get the subs pulling 2 ohms with that other CVR in...
