  1. that will be the biggest challenge and as far as I know you cant really tell how much volume the box will have until you make it and fill it with packing peanuts and figure it out. I was just wondering cuz I know theres a bunch of people on here who own, work at shops, or regularly build boxes for people. Didnt know if any of those people could give me a rough guestimate of prices
  2. I just dont even know the neighboorhood I'll be in with pricing for this
  3. its a tough project to start with otherwise id be more willing to try it myself not just making a regular glass box for a truck Im trying to squeeze 3 10s in a small area and have it look good
  4. If I do it myself I will absolutely make a build log but I just feel like it will be a huge waste of money and time to mess it all up then have to pay to have it done. If I just throw down the money I know it will be done properly and come out well and sound good the first time. I guess the question will be how many times can I attempt it myself before it equals how much it will cost to have someone else do it.
  5. This is what I am planning on. This spring Ill be getting a new truck. 2011 or 2012 (makes no difference same body) Silverado ext cab. I want to get 3 dc level 3 10's under the rear seat without sacrificing any passenger space. Im thinking the top and front face of the box can be wood with the rest fiberglassed to contour the floor and get every inch of usable space. I'd like it ported as well. I have been thinking about trying to do it myself because Ive watched a bunch of videos and seen builds on here start to finish but Im not sure its something I can handle without ever doing anything like it. So about how much would it cost for me to attempt it or AROUND how much could I expect to pay a shop or an enclosure builder to have it done?
  6. 8th grade math Was just in shock. Couldnt believe it. Thoughts go out to all lost and their families.
  7. get a good meter out and check you ohm load at the amp from the sub and see what it reads to be sure your wired correctly
  8. Ill get pics tomorrow its 10 pm so its dark and Im hittin the sack soon. Nothing special I have two of them in a prefab downfire box under the backseat and I built a sealed box for the third sub to be the same airspace as each chamber of the prefab. Not the prettiest install. somewhat temporary setup until I get a new truck next year
  9. got my subs today. Running 3 level 3 10s on an aq 2200 sealed in my truck and it sounds great. gets surprisingly low thank you DC
  10. subbed and joined 1 or 2 8s would be great in the new car my girl just bought
  11. So pissed off right now. I didnt go away this weekend because were getting hit with a hurricane tonight and like I said fed ex was going to try to deliver today... I was out late last night and stayed at my girls place woke up at 10 this morning had a cup of coffee and got home at 10 20 to find a god damn door tag from 10:16 at my house... really fed ex weekdays I have to wait until 4-5 pm to get a delivery and today its at 10 am so now I have to wait until tuesday like I said because they dont do residential deliveries on mondays and dont deliver sunday at all
  12. never heard of an isolater or batteries killing eachother haha. If you wire them the way I told you, you should be fine. +to+ -to- I do recommend upgrading the ground from the stock battery like I said. Grounds are important.
  13. No residential deliveries on mondays they do businesses and stuff might be something they do in my area? I dont know but thats how it is
  14. to wire in a second battery you can either run + to + and - to - and upgrade the ground on the stock battery or +to+ and ground the second battery VERY good to the frame sanded down very solid if your new to this i recommend just wiring the batteries together it will be easiest and you dont need to worry about making a ground for the second battery depending on the power you run either add another run of 4 gauge wire from the stock battery to ground or upgrade it to 1/0 gauge and dont forget to put at least one fuse on the + run
  15. I have an 06 silverado and I run an audioque 2200 with the big 3 an iraggi 240 amp alt with a yellowtop in addition to my stock battery. I usually rest from 14.6-15 volts and at full tilt I usually drop .3 volts so when I was running 2 2200s strapped i didnt drop below 13.2 and thats with a smaller HO alt and a lower end battery+stock. the alt you have stock in there should be probably 130-140 amps which is a good stock alt I would go with a nice battery first. either replace the stock battery with the better one and add the stock back in somewhere under the hood or get a not huge battery and add it to your stock (obviously do the big 3 either wway)
  16. me too and it sucks cuz fed ex is going to try to deliver saturday, and Ill be gone until sunday this weekend and they dont deliver on mondays so Ill be waiting until tuesday.
  17. Got my tracking numbers like an hour ago... Thanks dc crew it will be worth the wait
  18. Waitin on the tracking numbers then I can look foward to fed ex santa
  19. me either... Well Im sure Rusty appreciates all of our patience. Im waitin on mine as well. Hopefully well get them for the end of the week! If not hopefully early next week
  20. Read before you ask. You need to PM a dc sales rep theres a bunch of them posted on here. you do not get prices in a thread like this
  21. if your the one that paid for it put it on the road and your paying your insurance and everything then your parents shouldnt have a say. Your car man, perhaps its time your brother buys a new car, he has a job so he should be able to make a few payments. Your in a tough position cuz you dont wanna screw over your brother but hes askin a bit much of you
  22. No because as a consumer I know I have the choice to purchase something else. You chose to wait. They aren't holding you hostage on a deal Agreed, People need to stop complaining so much. Of course its frustrating to wait for things. Its out of everyones hands, they build the subs asquick as they can without comprimising quality and as quick as the parts come to them. Give them the benefit of the doubt that they are working hard to get it done. In the end were all getting some quality woofers.
  23. Hey I got the same sub on order would u mind shootin me a pm when yours ships so I'll have an idea when mines coming
  24. I think someone said parts just arrived but obviously there still crankin out xls and 2s I'm sure 3,4,5 will start soon so probably based on when you ordered will be when your get built, I ordered June 21st so I'm probably near the end of the list, people have been waiting since April and may
  25. haha wow over 3 months of orders, I cant even imagine how many subs just a couple people need to build
