Oh come on its just a little level 3. No offense to DC but with the amp he's running with a pre-fab I see no problems. But like everyone else says, make the box don't go pre-fab. There are some 'Quality' pre-fabs out there. Look into Ground Shaker boxes at woofersetc.com. That is if you have to go with a pre-made.

What do you mean if a woofer moves that far, its just wasting power?? And would that be at any power level? And un-realistically Kapetol T, what if the woofers had the same T/S parameters?? But I do understand what was said by HHR Ed.

Where would I be able to find specs on this woofer?? I can't find them anywhere for the 12" model. I'm looking for a friend. Would anyone be able to suggest a good box like cubes, tuning, etc?? Sealed Box Volume - 0.5 - 1.25 Ported box volume - 1.3 - 3.2 Port diameter (inches) - 4 Port length (inches) - 7.25 Sensitivlty - 96.4db RMS - 1100 Peak - 2200 Vas (Liters) - 33 Fs (Hz) - 31.5 Xmax - 18mm Can someone help me design the box to this?? It would be better to go with a larger enclosure say 3 cubes for 32Hz tuning?? How would I figure port area and all the stuff needed for this box??

Ahh... So basically the 500W woofer wouldn't be able to compress the air in the vehicle enough causing the 5k woofer to be louder? If so, gotcha.

Well let's say in an un-realistic environment that they both have Fs of say 30Hz. with both tuned 2.8 cube boxes at 28Hz. Now I'm not sure if that high powered of a woofer would work physically with that low of Fs. I just wonder which would be louder. I've been pondering this all day and need closure.

Now I'm sitting here thinking about woofers and there excursion/power limits. My 'theory' i think it is, is: Brand A - 15" sub, 4" peak to peak excursion, 3" coil, wired at 1-ohm. Reaches peak excursion at 5K RMS Brand B - 15" sub, 4" peak to peak excursion, 3" coil, wired at 1-ohm. Reaches peak excursion at only 500RMS Now if brand A reaches its peak at 5kRMS and brand B at 500RMS. With basically the same specs, would they be just as loud as each other?? Or would more watts be dominate?? I would think that they would perform the same seeing as same specs/stats. Can someone school me on this?? I'm not to experienced with the technical shit of woofers.

Maybe he just wants ideas/opinions on what we would run/use in a $2000 system. Maybe you could suggest some good woofers for him. Knowing me I would suggest Kicker. Like L7's and KS components. Amp wise Not sure.

If you wanna be heard 'down the block' just get multiple woofers and a nicely built enclosure. If you wanna run 'Underground car audio' then Fi or DC would be a good choice.

Dude if you burp a 149 and he a 150 with double the watts that should be a sign to lean towards something else such as get CVX's and another amp.

Yeah If it was me, I'd play it safe and stay with 1000-1400RMS. But being me I'd recommend a Kicker 1000.1 or a Kicker 1250.1

Alma did use Kicker woofers. If I'm not mistaken a bunch if 10" L7 Alma Gates edition woofers were used?? I may be wrong though. Kicker isn't a strictly SPL brand. IMO whoever told you Kicker wasn't good for SPL is wrong. I'm sure they they are just jealous of what you have. Doesn't The Big Oki run/ran Sony Xplod woofers and metered pretty good. Just depends on your build,,, To answer your question a Solo X would be good for your SPL needs... I'm sure with your 4 CVX's you could attain 150db. Just depends on your enclosure.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but just adding more batts won't keep them fully charged on a stock alt. I mean maybe add 1-2 Kinetik HC800 or 1 slightly larger one. My buddy has a '90 Accord with a Kicker 1000.1 and doesn't get light dimming whatsoever. He just has a new Everstart Maxx batt. But he stiffened his electrical doing the big three. (I don't guarantee you'll see the same results) Adding 2 HC800 would probably be alot cheaper than one H.O. alt. Like you said get the batts and when you get your new ride just get a H.O. alt for that.

So no H.O. alt right?? What about dry cell batts?? like 2-3 smaller ones?? I'd go with 2 12" (15's if space allots)Type-R's like you said with 1000RMS. Just upgrade wiring such as do your big three. IDK just a suggestion.
