  1. I don't know what a multimeter is, so I probably don't have one xD Would autozone be able to do that? I know they charge batteries... Don't have a volt meter besides the little 8 to 15v gauge in the dash lol
  2. As stated earlier. When I get off work I'll look at the little receipt thing for the volts
  3. I said I didn't remember the exact voltage, but if it was lower than that it wouldn't pass that as in whatever it should be at
  4. Ehhh, 600 cold crank amps? I don't remember the exact voltage... But it passed the charging system test
  5. Alright, replaced the belt tensioner and got an inch smaller belt. After that the chirping stopped and it scored fine on a charging system test. But when I play the subs... the voltage drop is even worse than my old stock alternator. Now however, the drop is so bad... that the voltage drop coincides with an actual drop in engine RPM as well. This of course didn't happen when the vehicle was in motion, but I noticed it at a stop light and my truck was about to die the RPM was so low. When I got home I put it in park at played the subs, and looked under the hood while they were on... and the engine really does wind down until it starts lurching. Keep in mind, my current set up is less than 1000 watts. Again.... no change whatsoever when switching the green/black pigtail wires.
  6. when you find dependeble 1800w for $300 lemme know right quick PLEASE
  7. If the box is built correctly, I believe the X could get louder... however two SA-12s would sound soooo much better doing it. But, if you're over powering the SA-12s... then they would be louder than just the RMS on an X. Also, 1800watts on stock electrical? >___>
  8. 96 dakota. 3.9L V6 I was driving home today, and the chirping finally stopped for a second, and the voltage meter (wich had been riding just above 8v) sky rocketed to 15V and held strong even with blower and highs on. As soon as the chirping came back (when I stopped at a red light), the voltage plummeted back down to 8v. Also, @Mechman... if I take a wirebrush to the mounting arms to get a better ground will it void my warranty?
  9. Just got all the stock OEM wires hooked back up... still not charging crap. :/ also, my truck started "chirping" extremely bad when I put the new alternator on. I don't know if that has any relevence.
