  1. the oldest vehicle that I typically do scans on is a 2000. Not for any particular reason, that is just the oldest vehicle that is in our pack.
  2. Not trying to pick on you bro...but this is an incorrect statement. The odb for the newer vehicles will also show electronic information. Every once in a while, I hook up an ODB III just to see my fuel consumption to check my pumps.
  3. I've never heard that before. I've taken several vehicles down to a local auto zone and just asked them if I can borrow their odb scanner to run a diag and they've never had a problem with it.
  4. It doesn't sound like a fuel filter to me. It sounds to me like this could be electrical, almost like the plugs are having a hard time firing, sometimes they fire, sometimes they don't. I'd take it over to a near by auto store and see if they can run a diagnostic on it. Most places will do it free of charge.
  5. Classic mang...i love the soda bottle. Haven't seen that trick yet...lol Heck yah, paint that strut bar. Sand her down to ruff up the metal and spray it up. I'd just give it a good primer coat to help protect it. Ohh and BTW....that engine needs a steam bath...holy cow it's dirty. lol
  6. Back in the day when stuff was made, it wasn't designed to as universal as most components today. My first inclination is to say no, a newer designed 350 motor probably wouldn't match up to your older tranny. But the only way to be definate is that we'd need the model of your tranny. Kev
  7. and make sure to tell them that you want to be the highlight of their next commercial. Give them the <honk><honk> mco...and then hoe sing her magic.
  8. agree mang....and they do so many that at least you should get a decent warranty with it to. That way if something doesn't feel right, put it right back on their door step and make them fix it.
  9. Damn bro...wtf. I leave town for a couple of days and crap always goes wrong. If you could have done this the later part of last week, I could have stood back with burrito and had some beers while we watch you try and get it in gear... (lmao...sorry man, I know you owe me a smak'n for that one). Anyhow, yeah your quote for 2g's seems pretty reasonable, but definately ask what brand of Torque converter (and stall speed) and valve body they are using. Unfortunately, all of the shops that I know and have dealt with are down in Stockton..otherwise I'd throw up some reccomendations..sorry. If you feel that they are jerk'n you around...gimme a call and I'll chat with them...we ain't gonna let them hustle a hustla
  10. the easiest and safest way to get those bolts out is with an easy out. Greatest tool ever invented.lol
  11. Got your message last night..sorry bro, been out of town for business. Tell your buddy to check his head gasket, sounds like it's leaking.
  12. Of course..how come? Bossmaan - I took your advice and looked at the nuvi 350 last night..that is a pretty sweet unit thanks.
  13. Just my luck..went to check out the xl and of course no one has it. Anyone have experience or reccomend a decent unit?
  14. I was actually going to check out the TOMTOM One XL after work. It seems pretty sweet online, with the the 4" screen and seems pretty thin. I have never owned one, so I am not sure really what to look for. Kevin
  15. I am in need of a portable GPS...anyone into know what's good and what's bad? I'd like to have something thin, easy to use and that has voice guidance. I was looking at the Magellan and TomTom units online, but I can't seem to find any pictures that show their thickness (the thinner the better) Kev
  16. Started a new job yesterday and already got to start travelling. I'll be in San Jose next week (Milipitas to be exact), so I thought I'd see if there was anything going down or anything to help pass the time. Kev
  17. The gs500 is a good learning bike yes, but what I personally do not like about it is the weight. For it's size it is a heavy bike. Honestly, I would not start out on any of the newer 600cc bikes, unless you have a very good teacher and are willing to soak in what they say. As the new bikes are pretty much race ready and will get away from you. I don't care what anyone says, probably the best learning bike is an SV650. Decent power band and very nimble. But zax is right..expect to lay the bike down a couple of times, so I would definately take a look at used bikes.
  18. Megalo...just wanted to pipe in and say that I haven't forgotten about the doc. The transition out of my old job is done..so I will have a bunch of downtime in the new job next week or over the long weekend to work on this.
  19. Thanks David....I only know this stuff, cause I have to do it on a daily basis. Megalo..would It help if I threw together a doc with some screenshots?
  20. Just throw server 2003 on your box and enable IIS and FTP. Once you setup your permissions, NAT the adddress to the outside and whoola..done.
  21. You changed it? Didn't it used to be J street? lmao What about that old shopping center that was across from Sunrise...Birdcage walk, I want to call it..not sure if it's still around. Arden Fair and Folsom used to have some pretty good shopping back in the day.
  22. Low N Loud....I've gotta say, the vids are awesome. But I have to say it, If you learn one thing from Meade..let it be this. Refer back to the chocolate milk video for reference. Destruction is good...but never leave home without the Duct Tape..to fix the destruction Keep up the good work...Mang
