  2. you know... for the money some of us spend on this hobby ( see addiction), we could have gone to school, bought a car or a house, or at least a decent hooker!!!
  3. 8 Ohms... well thats no fun!!!
  4. do it... just start quiet and bring it up slow. if you have access to an rta thats the best bet. start out with no boost at that freq, see what it looks like, and play with it. if its a little floppy, put some foam from a craft store on the back or bottom of the box, it will slow the air down and akte up a little space and tighten up the responce. semper fi
  5. the numbers you get from a tech shet are so its safe.... companies wont give you what it will be loudest at, cause they don't want a warrenty issue... the guys on here.. i think prolly know as much if not more that the guys at the company, cause all they do is look up the info on a tech sheet, the guys on here and tested tried and tuned, and know what works best. I must say thank you to a few people on here for a lot of info I have used. talk to foreverbumpin, he seems to know his junk. 2.6ish you say for a 12" sounds about right depends on the box design and power, but i would try it, shit my box is like 4.96 for my mojo 12"
  6. well if your 16-17 ok if your like 25-30... not kool, right on telling her not to mess with it, i did i nice littke something in a few peoples cars and tuned it right, they all fukked it up... yes nice work also, i applaud the people who take a little more time to clean up the wire. I have seen custon amp racks and enclosures that still have wire all over the place. And as far as an accord with two 15s.... wow how did you fit them in? I would recomend using just one and building the right box. that would wang alright.
  7. To anyone looking into this... these things are great! I love mine. Prolly the best sound investment I have made... I control mine from my IVA-W200, but its all the same... just thought I would throw out my .02 Oh and the price... nice, the 701 alone is just over that alone.
  8. yeah she is cute, but shes not even driving yet, think about that.... may you hold out for a few years....... then take another look. thats just wrong you guys
  9. The more you have, the more can go wrong.... can I get an AAAAMEEEN!!!
  10. I used to run a single Infinty 1030w in a 1.75ft^3 slot port tuned to hmmm I think it was 42Hz. sounded GREAT with 220-ish watts, and did a 137.3 dB. So, I like em. But thats me...
  11. when i first started installing, my buddy told me to put a diode inline with the remote line if i ever had turn on pop, I didn't and its a good thing... After i told him to order my DD5, he asked if I tried the diode. I say no. He said thats good it would have just started to melt the remote line and smoke a lot... what an asshole.
  12. If its gonna be for power I would use a distribution block. If its for remote, a relay. I acctualy went a little beyond what you need, and picked up a PG DD5. this thing is great. It has a variable delay for turn on and off up to like 8 sec. It rally helped with a turn on "pop", of all the equipment comming on at the same time. If its gonna be seen I would do it this way, other wise a little relay setup thats hidden with do the trick. Semper Fi
  13. i used to used an infinity 1030 for Q... loved it till i fried it a world finals 2005 lol, sounded great!!!
  14. good luck hittin that 150, Sick96Vtecaccord... it took me a 318 amp alt, 1 stinger sp1000, 4 kinetik hc600, 8 10'' subs, almost 1800 watts and a but load of tuning to get a 151.1 try builing a new enclosure and tuning... good luck
  15. Oh my goodness... I put an MTX 4508-04 in my girl's Envoy today, powered from an old MTX Thunder 102. Also a cheap Sony CDX-GT52W. I wanted to swap out the fronts and rears but it has the Bose setup in it, so for now i will just leave them in there. But heres the great part. With the "little bit of adjustment" from the deck, it sounds great!!! The sub is up front in a small sealled glass enclosure in the pass side kick panel. Only 100 watts, with just under half gain and cut over at 78Hz. I have been an Mtx guy for a little while, and have really started to venture out again to deferent companies, but I was so very impressed with this almost bottom end 8'' driver. Any how just thought I would throw it out there.
  16. I been going to to gym 3 days a week for 4 months and I keep gaining wheight... FUCK THAT!
