  1. You can watch it in HD if you prefer if you go to the video on youtube and click up to 720p. Also, side note, the vehicle is shaking more than it seems in the video, due to the current shutter speed i was using.
  2. I'm posting this for my friend Jonatan (smd member) Here's his flex video from yesterday's carshow. Camera's a Nikon d3s, with Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 lens.

  4. Sup Steve, sorry i missed it. Since you got props for live streaming, does that mean there's a possibility of you live streaming from inside the truck giving people sound checks and all?
  5. Are any of you guys using the GoPro HD video camera for your car audio videos? I picked up one from the nearest motorcycle shop for $299. It can shoot from 30fps to 60fps and up to 1080 HD resolution. I've got some videos of me testing mine out: When I get around to it I will post some videos of how it does when shooting a woofer.
  6. I spoke with a friend of mine, and he is going to let me borrow a couple of Mojo 12s to test in the box, and a little more power can be applied to see how the box performs. So far I've been putting about 200w per sub on a home receiver. I might get the chance to test it on 1000w per sub in a friend's truck when he gets back in town.
  7. Well, I added more sweeps within that range so that you hit your note at least 5 times before your 30 seconds is up. My speculation is that a new comer should do a frequency drop, and find where his system hits the hardest, then either play the test tone, or do a narrow sweep of that particular frequency range. I'm wanting to cut down the time it takes for one to sift through track songs to find that one frequency so that they do not lose precious time in the lanes.
  8. http://soundcloud.com/king-julian Hey car audio fanatics. I need your feedback on a bass sweep. For those of you that compete in the lanes with frequencies between 30 and 40, can you test out my sweep and let me know what you think? It is in the above link, and the top song file- 40-30-40 saved as a.wav file.
  9. You'd be surprised. The last box I had these in was 2.5 cu. ft. sealed. I had a sheet of mdf left over and decided to build on that size. I took volume measurements and it came out to 5.4 cu. ft. I looked on WinISD to see what it would require for 2 of the subs in a sealed enclosure: It said: Front Chamber Volume= 5.957 cu. ft. with a Qtc. of .71. The subs are actually the 1242w if you wanted to look the parameters up. The subs hit hard at low volumes in this box. I got the watching Bad Boys II with the subs hooked up and a Fostex 3.0 studio monitor, and it was very impressive, very theatrical sounding, even with the volumes low. One thing I noticed is that these subs do not like ported enclosures, you get more xmax and clarity out of a sealed enclosure.
  10. Here's the finished look as it sits. I had some issues along the way. I don't have a table top router or saw, so some of my cuts weren't straight, but not bad for my third box. Will post videos of it here in a second.
  11. I had some left over mdf boards from a small window unit project, and got the looking at one of them and decided to build a new box. Here's a rough look at what it will look like: The box in the works: The volume including the triangles is 5.38 cu. ft. The internal size is 24.5" depth, 23" width, 14.5" tall and the triangles are 11.5"wide, 6.75" depth, and 14.5 tall. It is a sealed design, that can be ported, but with experimenting with an old 2.25 box and one sub, I had a 3" port tube and would experiment with the port installed and with the port closed and noticed that the woofer would sound better, and have better xmax with the box being sealed. This will go in the astra.
  12. It's nothing on your part, it's because the people that recorded the song, did so without keeping an eye on the levels, so the clips are forever in the songs due to poor production, and nothing will really ever fix it completely. If I was to lower my levels overall, I would go to Effect> Equalization, then choose "Flat" and click on the horizontal bar and raise or lower my levels across all frequencies. I know you can do it with the gain and all, but this is what I use.
  13. There's really no way to fix it, because it was first recorded in original format, then enhanced (which is why it's clipping) and now you have it. If you try to fix it, say lower the levels, it would still be "capped" but at a lower volume, it would sound like it's clipping but audacity wouldn't show it because it isn't at the amplitude limit in audacity.
  14. Sometimes, show clipping may not work. The very limit of recorded audio is 1 and -1 as far as amplitude goes. If you look at your posted spectrum, the very limit "caps" off any sound that tries to go above it, in other words it "clips" those sounds. So it turns a sound into a square wave with a flat top.
  15. I made a trade at Guitar Center; my Pioneer DJM-400 mixer for the Hercules Rmx DJ Controller. it was a good trade because I've been using my mixer for a while mixing my music on computer, but wanted to play other artists material - via beat matching and pitch shifting, and didn't have any programs or cdjs(couldn't afford). But, I would definitely recommend the herc for anyone that wants to get into djing without the cost or hassle of carrying cdjs or vinyl plus turntables and a mixer around. The biggest issue is to check your computer or laptop to make sure that yoju have enough processing speed and memory to run the setup, if not a slow computer will put glitches in your mix. Also, you can record from the program that comes with it, Virtual DJ. and you can use it on any other dj programs as well. I personally use it to spin house music; progressive, deep, funky, vocal, trancy :hairtrick:
  16. My suggestion is to rebuild the setup but with one box and one port. I would cut the face of the box so that the only port is the inner side of the 12s (in the photo, the gap in the middle). I think what's hurting you are those triangular ports.
  17. Found some shots of me on course at a Feb. 22, 09 autox event. These as well as many others of other vehicles were taken by a forum friend for the organization: http://deviantspeed.com http://www.arscca.org
  18. kicker did a ride a while back that was covered in Auto Sound and Security that may be of interest to you. it might not be online. I'll check if i stil have the issue.
  19. if it was tuned high, the t-lin length would be really short, like 4 feet.
