I can make a sealed box with no prob. It's making a vented box that gets me. I've seen a couple different explanations, and gotten lost on all of them. I don't know how to figure how long/wide to make the vent, and I don't know how you figure out how to figure the dimensions to tune it to the frequency you desire.

My bad, I looked at ur info (it says Sony amp). I had this prob with a low model Pioneer about 3 years ago. I could get sound through RCA's, but not speaker wires. I was told that something inside the radio had blown, and for that particular model, it would have not been worth fixing. Sorry I can't help more. Good luck brother.

I drive a 92 4door Chevy Blazer. I have 6 Q Power 15"s, none in the truck. The reason I have them is because I got them for $75 each at a local flea market. I saw BASSHEAD's build log, where he used the same 6 subs, and bought them. Before I put any of them in, I want at LEAST 1 extra alt., as well as the amps, and extra system batts. Right now all I have in the truck is 4 DHD Power Cruiser Tweets (Flea market, but $30 a pair, and 105db's), and 2 Boo Boo 6x9"s, and two horn speakers for EXTRA AUTHORITY (110db's). I have a lower model Pioneer HU. The kind you can buy at Wal-Mart for bout $140 or so. I have a 7 band Pyramid EQ. Amp is Power Acoustik Fire and Ice. I think 520, 2 channel. I have 4 speakers hooked up to each channel at 4 ohms. This way the speakers are powered just right, and don't get a clipped signal, and the amp NEVER gets WARM, let alone hot. Really clear ear-ringer.

Tried it, but it actually cut off the speakers that were on each RCA as I touched that RCA with the "ground wire". I'll have to check everything again. I even have a separate "filter", but apparently that's not good enuff. I think it's the radio ground, not RCA, which is why I asked if I could just put NEG. from BATT to ground from radio. Do you think I should just try that?

Depends on your situation. If you use the seats, just upgrade the system. If you don't, make a vented box, take the seats out, and proceed to knock pictures off the wall.

1 time I was given two citations...excessive noise(134A), and noise nuisance(134B). $150 each. I didn't help the situation by giving him a hard time. My case was, was that I was playing the radio (I know lol), which obviously doesn't curse, but it was the song(rap). I told them that they wouldn't give citations to someone playing oldies. They would IMO get off with a warning.

I have a ground noise problem that I believe is being made by my Pioneer HU. I'm thinking it's either the RCA plug (not the wire, but where the wire plugs into the back of the radio), or the actual Radio Ground wire (the small black one). I tried to follow the radio ground, but with no luck. I know I can make another ground, but in my 92 Blazer, it seems like all the area behind the radio is plastic. Can I just run a wire from the NEGATIVE on my battery to my radio ground? If I can do this, what is the minimum gauge wire recommended, as the amp is a small PA Fire and Ice, dedicated to highs. I've also seen the link to grounding the RCA plug and am going to try that as well. Thanks

Not CRYSTAL clear,but damn near, and what tweeter for the price is that clear at such a high volume? I paid less at the flea market though. That's all I have to say.
