Stuck between choosing, I am getting BTL's however I cannot decide what config to go for. I have 14 cubes net after all displacements. What would be the loudest bearing in mind my space restriction ?

I'm not being lazy but the problem is that I am in the UK. The brands predominantly available are Fi, AA, DC and the other usual stuff. TBH your list kind of took me by surprise as I thought the only names that will be thrown around are Fi and Dc which both like I said are readily available.

I was leaning towards BTL's but am curious is there a sub that will play better and louder off 3.5k or should I just go for BTL's ?

I'm not after that Rms but whats available that can that on a daily ?

Need two 18's and have 3500wrms per sub @ 1ohm. Whats my options ? Want to smash my face in, so clue me up please. Will be walled, 16cuft a/d tuned to 35hz.

I'm 6'1 and 165lb and a large is too big for me. My Fi shirt is now proudly my sleeping t shirt. Almost love it as much as my subs

I'm in the UK and I am running 3 of the Maxrate Ups-350 batteries (94ah each) with my DE3000. Very solid batteries I have never ever seen below 13.5v on ull tilt.

I am in the same boat bought my 18" fully loaded BL's in Jan 09. The new ones have more motor strength and apparantly bridge the gap a bit more between the BL and BTL, so are they better in a word - yes. Are your old ones poo now ? no.

My battery and alt will be able to cope with it, but was just wondering if it really is worthwhile for me to change the hammers to the z1.

I have the aforementioned amp and I will be replacing my two Trutech Hammers with it to power my Bl 18's. My question is theres a debate over how much power it really does, some people say 3k, people on DD fan sites say it does 5k+ What is the actual output I can expect to see from it - 3k or more ?

They will be housed in a 15-17cuft wall so call it 8 cubes each. Seems 3k might be too much for them if the box size comes into play, I didnt consider that myself.

Very interesting thread for me considering my 18" Fully loaded BL's arrive in the Uk on the 3rd of Oct Doing the exact same build and mini builds as you, first a 18 on its own in 7 cubes with 1500wrms off a elcheapo Jbl amp, and then both walled with a Trutech Hammer each. Looking very forward to seeing how you get on and good luck.

How would you decribe the Bl's to be ? Ive got two 18's on order and they should be here on the 23rd of Sept. How do they cope with the lows as I've heard thats not their strong point ?

Just wondering what the actual output of these amps ? A guy in the uk scoped/calculated one to be doing: 2ohms - 1442wrms 1ohms - 2452wrms Also someone on Termpro got similar results. The ex distro for Tru in the Uk says he never saw more than 1500wrms out of one. So whats the general concensus on them ?

Hmmmm. Do BL's really sound like crap ? Are they slammy like a DD or still keep the Fi type of sound ? Heard a DC LV4 and I want to be as far away from that type of bass as possible. It was just noise. Theoretical question - If everything was installed to a Tee what db figure would I be looking at on a burp from 2 x 18" Q's 2 x 18" BL's This install is for balls out loudness but still listenable on a daily basis. Im getting 145-6 from a boot install with 2 12" Re Mx's so I'd like to go way past that score. Thanks

Hi Im in the Uk where Fi has just landed. For my next setup I will be running two 18's in a 15-17cuft walled install. Each sub will have a Trutech Hammer H1 powering it (so 1500wrms give or take). Now I have ordered 2 18" Q's but got thinking if I should have gone with the BL's ? The car is a small hatchback (Ford fiesta) And I was hoping I could get some opinions of what would be the best option ? Im after all out loud streetbass and note a one note wonder Any views ?
