  1. Nice build man, congrats on the SOTM.I like your A pillars, might do something the same with mine.
  2. I made them... IDK haha.. just looked at pictures..
  3. I'm self taught with it.. For Noobtastic14... aka Drew... what ya think?
  4. Wow I'm trying to do the reverse, get a 4 cylinder to sound like a muscle car... just without the muscle part... it'll change when the diesel arrives. I have been contemplating buying an astro I see everyday on the way to school, but its rough. Goodl luck with yours.
  5. Yeah no problem ... I think I might make a Massive P3000.1 The Mach5s were a bit hard and they might not be 100% accurate as I still dont have them in front of me.
  6. I got a bit bored waiting on my subs to show up... any day at all now... I did this in Autodesk 3D Studio Max. there is no back to it.. no basket no motor etc... I might make a box to stick it in. What you guys think? I did this DD/Sundown combo a long time ago. I imported in the box Noobtasic14 did for me.. and redid it so it would show up correctly.. it was a bit rushed ..
  7. I am relatively new to PayPal... I have a verified account but not a verified adress. I don't really want to give them my debit card number... I am aware of all the freezing of accounts and the "paypal sucks" website... Does it cost anything to call there help line? Its not a 800 toll free number I noticed...
  8. I know I might annoy some of you guys and make pretty stupid posts... but in the words of Ricky from the Trailer Park Boys.. "You gotta blame the thing upstairs" Heres the post from ***.. " do not want to run an amp @ 1/2 ohm. I have two dual 2 subs. I can get a Massive P3000.1 for $618.99, bnib, but it has to come over the border, so I'm not sure what border fees will be and stuff. MA Audio HK4000D http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/Pr...ProductID=14753 MA Audio HK802SX http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/Pr...ProductID=14738 I've heard both of these are power hogs.. I was thinking of going with a 200 amp alternator, and some extra batteries, would this be enough? I haven't found the batteries yet. I could also buy two SAZ-1500Ds, old heat sink design from dB-r. However that is really more than I'm wanting to spend. What else is out there?" However somebody mentioned the reviews of the HK4000D blowing subs.. This is my reply to my own topic.. "I've been told to get a used SAZ-3000D and run it at half ohm. I don't want to do this because I don't want to decrease its life... I honestly dont know what to do.. $800~ on two refurbished SAZ-1500ds.. I dunno.... " I don't really know what to do.. I need two amps that will do 1500W @ 1 ohm or one amp that will do 3000W @ 2 ohm. I'd like to spend around ~500 bucks but.. I don't think that will give me alot of options..
  9. Me too. I get them on showcase here after 10pm. Can you believe they've been filming since 1999-2000~ hope they make a new season...
  10. I've chatted with two people with 4x4 s10s with 6.5s in them. 6.2 is non turbo. I think I'm going to supercharge it later on.... and maybe add a remote mount turbo blowing into the s/c... we'll see... Are the NV3500s any good? I was told on S10Forum that I will bust it up. You guys are the only people other than the diesel page/my cousin that say do it. Its as big as a big block I think. I'm going to be using a different rad and electric fans... I will be doing a stud girdle to hold the mains together, might do 18:1 pistons so I can run a bit more boost. I'm at school will chat when I get home.. thanks for the replies.
  11. Ok heres where I'm at. I've become ever more fascinated by diesel engines. the noise, the smoke, the power... I have a 1994 GMC Sonoma. this is my project truck. It has a 2.2L 134cu. in. four cylinder. It is mated to a Borg-Warner T-5 (non world class) 5 speed, and a 3.73 rear end (I think its a GM 10-bolt.) I've been investigating a diesel conversion. My truck as it sits, needs the starter installed (PITA), and the transmission has to be removed and it needs a clutch installed. It is rather high mileage.. So I've found a 6.2 litre GM diesel. Its a 1982 J-code engine, which means it has no EGR, and IIRC, its 150hp, 240lb/ft of torque. This diesel motor has 40,000 miles. Its mostly complete. It needs and injection pump (around 300 bucks) and an intake manifold (price depends)... and maybe a few other things. I can get it for free. It uses the same bellhousing pattern as a small block GM gas engine. It also uses the same kinda motor mount, but I will have to move the motor mounts for them to clear the starter. I can use a 4.3L V6 S10 transmission, it will bolt up to the diesel. I will use the New Venture Gear 3500,which is a 5spd manual.. Using a transmission that came with some S-series trucks from the factory should be easier to swap.. I'd need the trans, shifter, and possibly crossmember, but it wouln't take major mods as far as I know. The rear end will eventually be swapped out to a 94ish ford explorer 8.8 4x4 rear end. So do you guys think I should do the diesel conversion? The diesel is mechanical, so it doesn't have a computer, and won't be too hard to wire up. I'm going to make a new dash panel with different gauges and stuff. Also, with the 6.2 I can get a bracket and use a 200amp generator from a humvee, I was thinking of using an alternator for the truck and the generator will charge the rear stereo batteries. Fuel mileage will be decent aswell. I should be able to get pretty good fuel mileage, I think I should be able to get better fuel mileage than my dads 6.6L diesel silverado. I was chattin with one guy with a 6.2 in a buick roadmaster, and he gets 37ish mpg Also I can weld myself, and my uncle is a ticketed welder who welds high pressure oil pipeline. Dads a mechanic.... should have enough help...
  12. http://www.stevemeade.com/ I went here once.. I was like WTF... steve became a hypnotizer?
  13. Heavy baby! I was only 1lb when I was born.. but I was early.. 3 months..
  14. Hmm. I'mma be powering a Mach5 IXL 12.2.2
  15. From the headunit? I think I'll go with the Hifonics.. they produce rated, or close to it right?
  16. Hmmm. Could I turn the gain down aswell? I just don't want to go and fry something. Hifonics Txi-1008D, I think would do aswell, just how would you find out what it can take for input voltages??
  17. Well ****. The deck I'm gunna get from bangin_exploder is a 6.5V pre-out deck. The SAE-1000D from sundown says 6V. So what are my options for a 1kW amp @ 1 ohm that will handle 6.5V pre out?
  18. Where can I find some? I've found a few on eBay, but some of them are kinda weird looking... in fact the only one I like on there is a John Deere one. Are they illegal or something?
