Brackets may not hold too well if in a wreck, especially if they are holding a tall mass. Also a custom box is a box built to the dimensions of the space you have available in the vehicle, so if had width depth and height dimensions, you could get a box designed/built for your application.

It wouldnt be a problem, but IMO you would be much happier with a custom built box made for all the subs, also it will look much better as well, there is a shop near me that sells Diesel Audio, and they do that, they just stack prefab boxes on top of eachother, and to the untrained Bass head may look cool, but to us more exp. bass heads you sorta think these guys should be embarrased, plus I dont even think they know how to make a box. If you build a box to the specs of the sub or have someone build one for you, it will look alot better and perform much better. Also if it gets to a certain point in height, the subs will tend to not perform as well, as they are in a way choked from the rest of the cabin.

You dont have to do the whole box, so it wouldnt be too too much, but if you have any left over, you can just charge your freinds to resin their boxes. Also I like to brace any ported box that is larger than about 2 cubic feet, after that it is too big for the port to act as a brace. That is unless I am using some monster 12's like the LVL4XL's or LVL5's then I will brace the hell out of it.

There is no way he is gonna maintain 14.4 with 2600 rms with stock electrical, he would need at least a 200 amp alt and one good battery, or the stock alt with like 3 batterys to maintain that power, I would personally go with the upgraded amp and a good battery under the hood.

I would say AQ HD3C, but they need 2.5 per sub, I vote the DC, since they do good in less airspace.

At the dealer ship where I work, just the pads kit and R&R run about 150 or so on average, so add the Rotors which are another 60 bucks or so, and R&R and you are looking at about around 300 or so. Yes and Labor is expensive 80 bucks an hour flat rate.

Both will do 1 ohm, it is just preference really, both will power your subs nicely, though I think that you wont be using the kicker to its potential, also there are quite a few people that do box designs on this site, some are free some may cost you a small fee.

I am still thinking Hifonics for this particular set up, as the 8" L7's are rated for 450rms a piece and with them being in a T-Line that handling goes down even more, so IMO it would be a waste to not use the Kicker to its full potential, and use it somewhere else, so thats why I change my vote to the Hifonics.

I just noticed you are doing a T-Line, since you wont need near as much power for a T-Line either amp will work, just be conservative with the gains.
